Tonight I'm vegging in front of Logo, the new gay TV channel from MTV. It took me a while to get into this basic cable channel which I assumed would simply repeatedly play gay films in their cleaned-up, edited-for-TV movies. Which it does, of course.
But it also plays fabulous little shows like Quintessential Queer Cinema, which I'm watching tonight. This wonderful mini-doc is actually a modern, updated Celluloid Closet-LITE. It focuses on the movie opinions and reminiscences of contemporary "out" celebrities & actors like the Indigo Girls, Isaac Mizrahi, Heather Matarazzo, & Christopher Sieber (on whom I have SUCH a crush!), and directors like Don Roos, Todd Haynes, & John Cameron Mitchell. Fun, seriously -- check it out.
