Equality Riders arrested

Although they had been warned to stay away by Jerry Falwell herself, more than 20 gay activists were arrested today on the campus of Liberty University. The members of the Soulforce Equality Ride began their brave journey earlier this week; they plan to visit conservative Christian colleges across the country to inspire discussion of GLBT issues and peacefully confront discrimination.

Nearly every one of my fellow high school students went on to attend Liberty University. Ever the rebel, I ended up traveling to Chicago to attend the Conservatory at Wheaton College. I'm curious to see how Wheaton will respond to Equality Ride when they visit the campus on April 20-21.
