Color & light

On our last day in Boise, John's father Charles gave us a tour of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. John grew up attending St. John's, as well as the adjoining St. Joseph's Catholic School. John's great-grandfather was the architect who designed St. John's Cathedral in the early 1900s.

As you can see from my photos, I have a distinct fascination with stained-glass windows. The windows of St. John's tell the story of Christ's life, from Annunciation to Ascension. There are also several representations of saints, my favorite being the glorious St. Cecilia window positioned dramatically behind the organ (the instrument she presumably invented).
